The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has pledged to make repairs to a number of Kuje Area Council roads, including the abandoned Kuje-Gwagwalada route.
Wike made the pledge during a security town hall meeting on Saturday,  and promised to see that the road was completed.

He went on to mention other routes that will receive immediate attention, including the Kuje-Robochi and Pegi relocation routes, adding that abandoned projects may contribute to instability in the neighbourhoods around them.
The minister forewarned the six chairmen of the local councils to quit dodging obligations and demands in their respective districts.

He instructed the chairmen to give the vigilantes and security personnel more authority and to improve their logistics inside their respective domains, stating that any failure to do so , may pose a further security risk.

Suleiman Sabo, the chairman of the Kuje council, had earlier called for an end to the illegal mining that was taking place within the council; he made no mention of the fact that this illegal activity was contributing to the high number of crimes, including abduction.

Alh Haruna Jibrin Tanko, the Gomo of Kuje, begged for the construction of MOPOL or Army barracks next to the villages that are the scene of active kidnappings.
he pledged the support of established institutions and the local council members.
