The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted thunderstorms and rains across the country from Monday to Wednesday.
On Monday morning, thunderstorms are expected in northern states, including Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Bauchi, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Jigawa, and Kano. Later in the day, more thunderstorms with rain are anticipated in parts of Taraba, Kaduna, Sokoto, Borno, Kebbi, and Zamfara.
In the North-Central region, morning thunderstorms will affect the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, and Nasarawa States. In the afternoon, additional thunderstorms are expected over the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Kwara, Niger, Kogi, and Benue.
The southern region will see a cloudy atmosphere with morning rain predicted for Ondo, Ogun, Edo, Ebonyi, Abia, Cross River, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom. Later in the day, rain showers are expected across multiple southern states.
On Tuesday, the northern region will again experience morning thunderstorms, particularly in Kano, Zamfara, Katsina, and others. The afternoon will bring thunderstorms over Taraba, Kebbi, and Borno, while the North-Central region will see similar weather patterns.
By Wednesday, thunderstorms with rains are expected across various states in the north, as well as in the North-Central and southern regions.
NiMet advises the public to take precautions, including securing loose objects and avoiding travel during heavy rain. Airline operators are encouraged to check for specific weather updates for effective planning.
